  1. Product Version:
    [DataLock Software] Version: All
    OS: All platforms

  2. Description:
Does [DataLock Software] support the backup of Pervasive SQL, Sysbase, db2, FoxPro database?

  3. Steps:
The current version of [DataLock Software] does not have a specific backup module to handle backup of such databases, to handle the backup of these types of database, please try the following:

a.     Use the pre/post backup command to shutdown/startup your applications before/after a backup job (assuming you don't need to have your database/application online 24x7 and the database file is small enough to be transmitted to the [DataLock Server] each night.

b.     Use the pre-backup command to run a database specific command to dump/export all database data to a dump file and upload this dump file using a file-type backup set.

We are planning to have a general framework design for all other database/applications like Pervasive SQL, Sysbase, db2, FoxPro ... etc. We are targeting this feature in version 6.0 of our software
